Amendments to the Rules of Racing – 13th September 2024
Please note that the following amendments to the GBGB Rules of Racing that have been published in the GBGB Calendar dated 13th September 2024 and are effective immediately with the exception to Rule 194 which comes into effect January 2024.
- Rule 2A – to replace Rule 2.
- Rule 2A – to update the list of recognised bodies authorised to publish details of any steps taken, decision given or order made under GBGB Rules.
- Rule 2A – to add a definition for when a person ceases to be bound by the Rules of Racing.
- New Rule 2B – to define when a person that is subject to the Rules of Racing is deemed to have retired from the sport.
- Rule 7 – to now reference the Criteria for GBGB Licensed Persons in Appendix V.
- Rule 9 – to now reference the Criteria for GBGB Licensed Persons in Appendix V.
- Rule 48 – to add an exception which removes the need for a requalifying trial or Replacement race for a greyhound that has previously had a Graded Race at a particular Racecourse, but has since run in a Graded Race elsewhere, if the previous Graded Race at that Racecourse was within 12 weeks of the Graded Race in question.
- Rule 50 – to remove the requirement of a qualifying trial for a greyhound with the requisite number of trials or graded races over the Sprint Distance to be entered for a Standard Distance graded race.
- Rule 194 – to add a fixed penalty for the late filing and validation of a trial or race meeting.
- Appendix V – to reinstate the use of Appendix V.
- Appendix V – becomes Criteria For GBGB Licensed Persons.
- Appendix VI – to remove any reference to the Manager of Welfare & Integrity Services and to update Complaints Policy Flowchart.
